CONFERENCE SUMMARY: The 1st National Conference Simulcon India took place At Rajahmundry on 12th -15th Dec 2019. The Venue was Smart lab. 

The Conference objectives were,At the end of this session , the participants
1) Describe the educational modality known as simulation
2) Explain how the underpinning educational theory informs the educational process of simulation
3) Articulate how simulation can be applied to clinical medicine to teach and improve patient care
4) Use a recognised model for providing feedback to participants in simulation
5) Develop and script simulation scenarios for use in the delegates’ own educational practice

CONFERENCE SUMMARY: The 1st National Conference Simulcon India took place At Rajahmundry on 12th -15th Dec 2019. The Venue was Smart lab.
The Conference objectives were, to, promote newly attained knowledge practices by many scientific sessions held by renowned experts in their respective fields, explore new trends in laparoscopic surgery through virtual workshops and to showcase emerging surgeons through their research and work.

It was the conference with 12 different workshops running in parallel, the workshops were namely BCLS/CCLS, Fiber Optic Bronchoscopy, Lapmentor, Angiomentor, Anatomage, Arthroscopy, Obstestrics, Radiology Blue Panthom and Communication Skills & Empathy.

This conference was awarded 6 credit hours by AP Medical Council

The conference saw a record number of registration and attendance for a National conference with 1617 registered delegates with many more accompanying persons

SIMULCON PRE – CONFERENCE WORKSHOP

Theme: undergraduate simulation based curriculum: a step wise approach

The Conference objectives were,
In this workshop, the participants learned theoretical concepts of developing Simulation Based Curriculum for Undergraduate Students from the Millennials perspective which can prepare them for a challenging career ahead. Participants will be exposed to student’s past experiences on classroom environment, epistemological beliefs with possible explanations for such beliefs which has influenced their learning. Student and clinicians’ narratives will be used to justify the need for simulation based curriculum which can meet their demands. Participants are introduced to a successfully running model on how to build a curriculum to match the needs of this generation of students and implement it in the existing curriculum.

Workshop on advanced gynaecological and obstetric skills focused on the theme to Become smarter by introducing all the participants to the modern era of simulation Based learning and hands on training.The two day program mainly sensitised the Innovative learning opportunities for all the post graduates, faculties from the Field of gynaecology and obsteterics on lucina – breech delivery demonstration and hands On training in different manoeuvres,anatomage table and its applications in obstetrics and Gynaecology, basic suturing techniques,diagnosis of various  gynaecological Disorders, basic and advanced laparoscopic skills, problems in labour and Troubleshooting and pph ( triage and medical management, tamponade techniques, Compression sutures,devascularisation and peripartum and hysterectomy.

GSL medical College & General Hospital hosted EFIAGES RAJAHMUNDRY course 2nd time at their SMART LAB & new Endoscopy suite from 31-05-2019 to 02-06-2019 under the guidance of Organising Chairman Dr. Ganni Bhaskara Rao and Organising Secretary Dr. Samir Ranjan Nayak. Delegates from UK, Pakistan and Bangladesh viewed the live feed of the lectures. The Endoscopy Suite was inaugurated by Dr. Sayandev Dasgupta, President, IAGES & other EC members.  The delegates experienced hands-on at 10 stations of endoscopy and colonoscopy. Live from ASIAN INSTITUTE OF GASTROENTEROLOGY, HYDERABAD by Dr.D.NAGESHWAR REDDY AND Dr.G.V.RAO was arranged. The SMART LAB – Simulation Center of GSL Medical College showcased its low to high fidelity simulators and the various courses offered.  Live Endoscopy sleeve gastroplasty procedure from by Dr. MURTHY NAYASAVAJJALA (UK) was one of the highlights. Total of 94 fellowship delegates and 52 participants in CME attended the comprehensive course with over 15+ faculty.  Over the 3 days, 68 endoscopies, 19 colonoscopies, 3 ERCP and 4 Sleeve Gastro-plasties took place.

BCLS Workshop (Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support t)

It was a 6 day course with 6 different batches with a maximum of 40 students in each batch this BCLS course focuses on what rescuers need to know to perform high –quality CPR in a wide variety of settings . Here they can also learn how to respond to chocking emergencies. They had a detailed view and steps of BCLS class followed by different scenarios and hand on Training on the same Day.
